What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first appointment at Gentle Family Dentistry is designed to give us a complete picture of your oral health and build a foundation for long-term care.

1. Welcome & Paperwork

When you arrive, our friendly front desk team will greet you and help you complete any remaining paperwork. We'll verify your insurance (if applicable) and answer any questions about your coverage or our payment options.

2. Digital X-rays

We'll take a complete set of digital X-rays so Dr. Li can see the full picture of your dental health β€” including areas between teeth and below the gumline that can't be seen with the naked eye. Our digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays.

3. Comprehensive Exam

Dr. Bei Li will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, and soft tissues β€” including a screening for oral cancer. She'll take time to review your medical history, understand your concerns, and answer all of your questions.

4. Professional Cleaning

Your hygienist will gently remove plaque and tartar buildup, clean and polish your teeth, and review your home care technique. Cleanings typically take 45–60 minutes for most patients.

5. Treatment Plan & Discussion

After your exam, Dr. Li will explain her findings and discuss any recommended treatments. You'll receive a clear, prioritized treatment plan with transparent cost estimates. We believe in giving you all the information you need to make confident, informed decisions β€” never rushed, never pressured.

6. Follow-Up Scheduling

Before you leave, we'll schedule your next cleaning appointment and any follow-up treatments you've decided to proceed with. Most patients are in and out within 90 minutes for their first visit.
